President and Founder
As a leader in executive recruiting, Shelli Herman brings her strong knowledge of market intelligence and her proven track record of leading successful searches to each client’s engagement. As a testament to these results, she takes great pride in the number of clients for whom she does repeat or referral work.
In keeping with the company’s dedication to nonprofits, Shelli is a prominent volunteer in the Los Angeles community. She is vice president of the Board of Directors for the Children’s Bureau, serving as chair of the Governance Committee and an active member of the Executive Committee. She is also a sustaining member of the Junior League of Los Angeles, a volunteer organization for women focused on leadership and service to the community. Shelli additionally served several terms on the Board of Directors as development director and projects director.
For 12 years, Shelli helped guide the Downtown Women’s Center (DWC) as a member of the Board of Directors. The DWC works to eradicate homelessness for women on Skid Row in Los Angeles. Her time as founding chair of the Development Committee resulted in a period of unprecedented financial growth for the organization. She also served as the 2016 chair for the DWC’s Dinner with a Cause, which saw the highest net revenue in the history of the event.
Shelli is also a member of the National Advisory Council for the Foundation of the Wichita State University and a member of the prestigious Network of Nonprofit Search Consultants.

Margot Garber has participated in more than 100 search assignments supporting the work of Shelli Herman and Associates, Inc.’s consultants. She has assisted diverse clients, from respected institutions of higher education and nonprofits providing social services to organizations elevating the arts and innovative corporations.
Recognizing that every client’s needs are distinct, she takes pride in helping provide services specifically tailored for each search. Known for her can-do attitude and tenacious approach to problem solving, Margot has proven herself as a fundamental part of the search execution team. Her hand touches every part of the work that is accomplished by the firm and she takes great pride in the profound commitment to quality that makes Shelli Herman and Associates, Inc. a best in class enterprise.
As someone dedicated to providing exemplary client service, Margot is an invaluable member of the Shelli Herman and Associates, Inc. team. Margot holds a bachelor’s from the University of San Francisco. Immediately following college, Margot spent several years in a leadership role supporting a family business prior to joining the firm in 2012.
Krista Haley is an experienced executive recruiter whose work reflects her passion for client service as well as her acute attention to detail. Her ability to assess talent and make an impeccable match with clients is unrivaled. An executive search consultant since 2005, Krista’s specialty is in senior-level finance, administration/general management, communications, and marketing functions. Since joining Shelli Herman and Associates, Inc., Krista has applied her extensive search experience to a number of higher education and nonprofit searches at the decision-maker level. A sampling of her impressive client portfolio includes the University of California, Los Angeles; Loyola Marymount University; the Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Cotsen Foundation for the ART of TEACHING; and the Annenberg Foundation.
Prior to joining Shelli Herman and Associates, Inc., Krista was with another Los Angeles-based executive search firm as a senior vice president, whereby she managed corporate communications, investor relations, marketing, and nonprofit and higher education leadership searches for clients including the University of Southern California, Mattel, Occidental Petroleum, the Gap Inc., Kia Motors, Kaiser Permanente, and The Capital Group Companies.
Before becoming an expert search consultant, Krista worked at public relations agency Weber Shandwick in Los Angeles, where she developed communications and crisis management plans for major corporations spanning industries that included healthcare, technology, manufacturing, financial services, and consumer products. She advised corporate clients including Mattel, Pacific Union Bank, and the Automobile Club of Southern California on communications strategies related to financial restructuring, litigation, executive succession planning, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate reputation management.
Krista spent her early career working in New York as a managing director at public relations firm BSMG Worldwide, where she directed communications and investor relations programs for clients including Trans World Airlines, Samsung, and Deloitte & Touche. She was one of the founding members of BSMG’s first Los Angeles office in 1997. Krista received her bachelor’s degree from Mount Holyoke College.
Amy Perrone has more than 25 years of retained executive search experience and has helped build upper-management teams for organizations as diverse as Fortune 500 companies, regional companies, and Silicon Valley start-ups. Having made financial services one area of focus, Amy offers a wealth of experience and a depth of understanding in all segments of the financial services industry. Working worldwide with investment firms, banks, and mortgage and insurance companies, clients have included Goldman Sachs, The Capital Group, AIG, and Countrywide Financial Services. She has successfully completed numerous assignments for institutional, capital markets, and transactional services as well as investment management on both the wholesale and retail side.
While specializing in financial services, Amy also focuses on executive searches for healthcare, technology, education, and nonprofit organizations, working globally across many industries and functions.
Prior to her career in executive search, Amy was an account executive with Merrill Lynch in New York and Michigan. As the #1 young broker in Michigan, she was selected to participate in Merrill’s exclusive Early Success Program, learning many of the skills and the discipline that augmented her natural tenacity and drive for success, which continue to contribute to her accomplishments in executive search. Amy graduated from the University of Michigan with a Masters of Arts where she also did post-graduate work in organizational psychology at the Institute for Social Research. She received her bachelor’s degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton.
